I myself am from Persia (Iran). This version of the game is very close to ancient Persia in terms of the environment, the buildings of Persepolis and the statues and petroglyphs of the Achaemenid kings and soldiers and the architecture of the city of Babel are well designed and the background music of the gameplay is from Centaur and other music. The Persian language used is different from the previous versions of 2010, which had Arabic and Indian music and game environment. But always the biggest problem of this game is that the clothing is not Iranian. In this version, our character has strange African hair, and in the remix version of Shane Zamaneh, he wears an Arab hat, but in the version of Shane Zamaneh, the Prince's costume is acceptable. It was very interesting anyway.
What an absolutely stellar looking game. But the only peoeple who can get away with charging $60 for a side scrolling metroidvania and Nintendo themselves, selling Metroid Dread. If they made this a 3d metroidvania, that would probably be an easier sell.
@@LeoStaley I agree with you about 3D. Honestly, I find it strange to buy a 2D game on a PC or console for $60... while AAA hits sell for the same price. And, yes. Of course, I'm not going to buy Prince of Persia for $60. In my opinion this kind of game should sell for $15-25.
This looks like a good homogeny of the classic side scrolling PoP platformers and the Sands of Time trilogy (provided you exclude the Forgotten Sands game that was set between the first two games, and not the other Forgotten Sands game that was completely separate). I'm stilk unsure whether this will be a good reentry into the Prince of Persia franchise for Ubisoft. But, I am glad they're still trying despite the previous Sands of Time remake that was put on hold 'indefinitely'.
is he meant to be persian?? idk if i missed something about his backstory, but if he is supposed to be persian why did they make him black instead of persian? we're barely represented enough as it is, first they put a swedish guy as the prince (in the movie), now a black guy :( what's wrong with portraying him as persian? it seems you only decide to be accurate if the character happens to be a terrorist :/
@XburnthedeadX I am iranian, i am aware of the ethnic diversity in iran, and the different skin colours there. That doesnt mean we are black with dreadlocks. You can have an Indian guy with way darker skin than a black guy, that doesn't mean the indian guy is black. There are black people living in iran, like everywhere else, but ethnically they are not persian, and are there because of unfortunate history taking them away from their homelands in africa.
@XburnthedeadX it is very obviously african, and the dreadlocks confirm it (they wouldnt dare put dreadlocks on a non black character nowadays). I do not care if they made the prince a darker skin tone, I care that they changed his entire ethnicity. and on top of that, they gave him an arab/mesopotamian name (sargon). all of it is just a slap in the face to our culture and heritage. it's such a shame because other than this the game looks good. now to just wait for the PoP: SoT remake :/ hopefully they dont ruin that
Weren't the first 2 games (and their 20+ ports) side-scrolling platformers? This series started in the late 80's and it wasn't until the early 2000's that they became adventure hack n slash? I dunno seems like a solid middle ground to me between modern and original PoP.
Woh this makes me feel so nostalgic. I used to sound just like the narrator when, as a kid, the teacher would ask me to get up and read a passage from the book 😄

Even the fourth one, the reboot Price of Persia, however good looking it was, got me instinctively unliking it, because it wasn't the Dagger of time story.. 😅
But prince of Persia sells, ubisucks likes big money
@@darvx92 and that's what gonna hit back hard in the end)
Reminds me of Metroid Dread and classic 2D PoP games I used to play on a mobile phone. Hope this will not disappoint
But it didn't cost $40+ on mobiles :D
Ubisoft, too expensive, too expensive...
It's a genre called the Metroidvania, so-called because of the similarities shared by the best and first examples of it.
@@mRelby13 I'd actually put the non-sale price somewhere around $40.
at first you're like, this is a 2D-ish game how hard can it be, then u see the combos and you think "i'm gonna suck hard at this"
This looks like a good homogeny of the classic side scrolling PoP platformers and the Sands of Time trilogy (provided you exclude the Forgotten Sands game that was set between the first two games, and not the other Forgotten Sands game that was completely separate).
I'm stilk unsure whether this will be a good reentry into the Prince of Persia franchise for Ubisoft. But, I am glad they're still trying despite the previous Sands of Time remake that was put on hold 'indefinitely'.
Yep, that's right. Mastery over time travel gives you a lot of other powers like flight and teleportation
That's true, but why take a sarcastic tone?
is he meant to be persian?? idk if i missed something about his backstory, but if he is supposed to be persian why did they make him black instead of persian? we're barely represented enough as it is, first they put a swedish guy as the prince (in the movie), now a black guy :( what's wrong with portraying him as persian? it seems you only decide to be accurate if the character happens to be a terrorist :/
Bro you do know Persians can have way darker skin tones than this... Right?
@XburnthedeadX
I am iranian, i am aware of the ethnic diversity in iran, and the different skin colours there.
@@GrigoryTingus I understand the dreadlocks, that is not very middle eastern but regardless his skin tone/facial features do not scream African to me.
@XburnthedeadX it is very obviously african, and the dreadlocks confirm it (they wouldnt dare put dreadlocks on a non black character nowadays). I do not care if they made the prince a darker skin tone, I care that they changed his entire ethnicity. and on top of that, they gave him an arab/mesopotamian name (sargon). all of it is just a slap in the face to our culture and heritage. it's such a shame because other than this the game looks good. now to just wait for the PoP: SoT remake :/ hopefully they dont ruin that
@@travislee4196Dreadlocks are super middle eastern. The Mesopotamians loved them.
The prince looks like a fortenite character.
Remind me again, where exactly is the prince of Persia in this game?
Sorry Sargon, but our prince is in another castle.
Weren't the first 2 games (and their 20+ ports) side-scrolling platformers? This series started in the late 80's and it wasn't until the early 2000's that they became adventure hack n slash? I dunno seems like a solid middle ground to me between modern and original PoP.
@@BitchesLoveGoodra yes. And the prince looked properly, unlike here.
The tile 💀
Didn't think Prince of Persia would ever see the light of day again 😁✊🏽🔥
Gameplay looks amazing and fast. I love the combos
so you have time to make this, but seem to be struggling with the sot remake.
@@hawk_yeey8976 Cara vai jogar a consagrada trilogia do PS2, o nome Prince of persia so veio popularizar com ela
Woh this makes me feel so nostalgic.
I used to sound just like the narrator when, as a kid, the teacher would ask me to get up and read a passage from the book 😄
I don't know but this made me change my mind about this game, this looks really good. I'll definitely play this one
Seriously? ANother 2D PoP? Give me a break. Where is Warrior Within style...
De vuelta a los origenes es todo lo que pedía y me lo han dado, ya es una compra segura
it looks like fortnite and the guy looks like some type of person that youtube would shadowban my comment for saying.
Sim...foi tudo oq pedi, poder voltar as origens.
Queria uma Aventura que me lembrasse minha infância ..Sonho realizado ❤️🔥💥👊🏻💥
Will there be a physical release for PoP: The Lost Crown?
Honestly I didn't think I would say this but I'm glad to see a classic respected at least half way. Def gonna buy this when it gets down to $30. Looks like a winner
The game looks absolutely amazing. looking forward to play it as soon as possible.
Saying "on all platforms" during the video but showing only epic isodemo store and no steam among the logos at the end? Really?
Okay, now you have my attention with this one Ubisoft.
The first couple videos I saw about this game had me very concerned as they showed next to no actual gameplay, but this one answers a lot of my questions.
I'd rather remaster of series than this or just a new game non platformer
Remake the trilogy and release it as a collection please
This was one of the best games I have played and not just one if the best pop games, bravo to the team!
This looks very fun. That's all that matters to me on a videogame...
As an Iranian I really liked it the only negative thing is the protagonist appearance he looks like African and not Persian and I hope we get to hear Persian songs and music in the game too
Absolutely stunning! It looks awesome and I love the art direction!! Can't wait to play it on Switch and I can't wait to pick up the art book :D
Hassan is not a Persian name.
